The Council Bluffs Police Department held their 2017 Awards Banquet on Thursday, April 6. Recognitions include Years of Services Awards for 5 – 35 years, Department Commendations, Civilian of the Year and Officer of the Year.

Aaron Kozisek is a 5 ½ year veteran of the Department. During the time that he was recommended for the award, PO Kozisek was assigned to the overnight shift where he was very active in his district. He has since accepted a position with the Traffic Unit on afternoon shift. PO Kozisek is also currently a Field Training Officer, Driving Instructor, Bicycle Certified, a Standardized Field Sobriety Test Instructor and an Advanced Accident Investigator. Officer Kozisek is described as always professional and truly hard working.
Cassandra Salter, a 5 ½ year veteran of the Department works the overnight shift as an Identification Technician. Cassie has a Bachelor’s Degree from Wayne State College in Criminal Justice, a Master’s of Forensic Science: Investigative Sciences from Nebraska Wesleyan University. Cassie’s other qualifications include being a Certified Crime Scene Analyst through the International Association of Identification, a Marijuana Identification Analyst and over 600 hours of crime scene related areas. Cassie was described as being a true asset to the shift with positive effect on the entire shift due to her hard work.
