Mayor Walsh gives proclamation at fifth annual Pinwheels for Prevention event on Saturday, April 8. April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month and community members from Council Bluffs and Omaha untied to take a stand. Mayor Walsh was joined by Omaha Mayor, Jean Stothert, at the center for the Bob Kerry Pedestrian Bridge where they issued a joint proclamation dedicating April Child Abuse Prevention Month in the Council Bluffs-Omaha Metro.
As the proclamation reads, “Child abuse is a community issue and finding solutions depends on involvement and partnerships among people throughout the community.” Mayor Walsh concludes his proclamation by encouraging “all citizens, community agencies, religious organizations, medical facilities, and businesses to partner in efforts to prevent child abuse and neglect, thereby strengthening the communities in which we live.”
