We're hosting Costume Night at Cochran Park (100 S 21st Street) on Friday, the 13th of October, from 6 – 8 p.m.
This family-friendly night promises spooktacular fun as families and friends come together for a seasonal celebration. Costume Night at Cochran Park offers various activities for all ages, including pumpkin painting, Halloween balloon animals, music and dancing, fall photo ops, a costume parade, the imagination playground, and many glow-in-the-dark games.
Thanks to the generosity of the Iowa West Foundation, 200 free pumpkins, and a pumpkin painting station will be available at the event. Kids can unleash their creativity on their pumpkins and take home their masterpieces. To allow as many participants as possible, there is a limit of one pumpkin per child.
DJ 1 Eyed Jack will keep the atmosphere electric, ensuring partygoers dance the night away. At 7:00 p.m., costume-wearing guests can parade along the FIRST AVE trail, showcasing their fantastic costumes. The one-block-long mini-parade welcomes bikes, scooters, and walking feet.
Glow-in-the-dark games include kickball, football toss, soccer, and knockout basketball. With LED glowing balls, these spooky sports will light the night. Glowing prizes will be handed out to the winners!
Pickleball fans can sign up for “The Monster Smash,” a costume tournament taking place at the event. Interested individuals are encouraged to register early, as spots are limited and expected to fill quickly. Visit cbparksandrec.com for details.
Giveaways include Council Bluffs reflective trick-or-treat bags, flashlights, LED bike lights, and more! Plus, thanks to the generous support of the Iowa West Foundation, attendees can enjoy complimentary hamburgers and hot cider while supplies last. Additional vendors will be on-site, with kettle corn and warm drinks available for purchase.
