The City of Council Bluffs is looking to hire seasonal employees. Seasonal positions include:
Assists the Engineering Division with inspection of the City-owned infrastructure and other improvements located within the City Right-of-way. Reviews permitted projects for compliance with established standards for installation and maintenance of stormwater features.
All City Lifeguards must have a current certification as a Lifeguard from a recognized and approved source of training. Performs varying duties associated with ensuring the safety of the public present at the City’s water parks by preventing and responding to emergencies.
Machine Pitch Supervisor
Machine Pitch Supervisors will set up the equipment for leagues and make sure the games run smoothly each night of play. Machine Pitch Supervisors will also put the equipment away at the end of the night.
Responsible for aiding in the care and maintenance of various parks, recreational trails, streetscapes, urban forestry functions, and public property located within the City park system
Pool Cashier/Pool Concessions
Under supervision, performs a variety of routine storefront, clerical, and office tasks at the City’s water parks.
Public Works Operations Maintenance
Performs a variety of manual tasks in connection with street and sewer repair/rehab, operates one or more types of automotive equipment and performs a variety of general labor and maintenance tasks.
Recreation Complex Maintenance
Responsible for aiding in the care and maintenance of turf, athletic fields, and irrigation systems of the Council Bluffs Recreation Complex and other competitive level sports fields located within the City park system.
Recycling Center Laborer
Performs a wide variety of semi-skilled tasks in the comprehensive city-wide Solid Waste Management Program.
Depending on the position, the pay range for seasonal jobs is $9.25-$16 per hour. Most seasonal positions average 40 hours per week. Job descriptions and applications for each position can be found on the City’s website www.councilbluffs-ia.gov by selecting “Employment” at the bottom of the page.
