As the West Broadway Reconstruction Project moves closer to kicking off construction on the second segment of the West Broadway corridor, the City of Council Bluffs Public Works Department will hold a public information meeting for businesses, property owners, and the general public. Public and business input has guided the design process and the Project team is ready to present details for Segment 2, which encompasses 32nd Street to 28th Street. Construction on Segment 2 is anticipated to begin in early 2018, with utility relocations already underway.
“The completion of Segment 1 on schedule and under budget is in large part due to excellent planning by the Project team,” said Mayor Matt Walsh. “We’re looking forward to the same level of success for construction of Segment 2.”
A public information meeting is scheduled for Thursday, December 7, 2017 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the Commons Area of Thomas Jefferson High School, located at 2501 West Broadway in Council Bluffs. The public meeting will address design details specific to Segment 2 only. Maps depicting Segment 2 design will be available for review, as well as the anticipated construction schedule and proposed detours for the area. Project representatives will be on-hand to discuss Project improvements and construction staging and access.
The West Broadway Reconstruction Project will preserve and enhance the economic vitality of Council Bluffs by transforming West Broadway into a more viable and aesthetically pleasing transportation corridor for businesses, residents and the traveling public.
