We're kicking off the 19th annual Winterfest on Thursday, November 16th at 6:00 p.m. at the Bayliss Park Holiday Lighting. Join Mayor Walsh and Santa Clause for the moment we turn Bayliss Park into a twinkling wonderland. Stay awhile and enjoy free, family-friendly activities! Santa Clause has set up his workshop on the south side of Bayliss Park this year, and he is looking forward to hearing your holiday wishes and taking lots of photos! Additional photo opportunities will be scattered throughout the park by way of artfully designed holiday cutouts and displays. The Union Pacific Museum will have several activities as well, including face painting, balloon animals, hot cider and real-life reindeer! The GyroShack food truck will be set up at the park along 1st Avenue. Activities, including Santa's Workshop, commence at 8:00 p.m.
“This event has become a Council Bluffs holiday tradition for many of our residents and families, and something we look forward to every year. Holidynamics does a great job with the lights, and we are excited to bring the holiday glow back to the park this year,” said Mayor Matt Walsh.
The Bayliss Park Holiday Lighting is the first of several Winterfest 2017 activities. The season spans the months of November, December, and January with a variety of cultural and sporting events that take place throughout the city. A full schedule is available at the Council Bluffs Parks and Recreation Website.
