The City of Council Bluffs, along with US Bank, will be hosting a firework viewing party at Tom Hanafan River’s Edge Park on July 1st from 7-10:30 pm. TD Ameritrade Park is hosting their annual Independence Day fireworks display, and Tom Hanafan Park is the perfect place to watch. “We have recognized that Tom Hanafan Park has become a popular place to watch the fireworks, so this year we decided to create a fun atmosphere and encourage more residents to attend," says Mayor Matt Walsh.
This year the park will play host to a local band called Bo’Dell and the Relics who will entertain the park attendees with some classic rock music from 7:30-9:30 pm. There will also be several food vendors including Hy-Vee, Made It Myself Shaved Ice, and 3rd Base Bar & Grill. Activities for the kids, including face painting and a trackless train ride, will begin at 7 pm. As part of 100 Block Parties, there will also be free UN campaign swag including t-shirts, koozies, and frisbees. This event is free thanks to our presenting sponsor, US Bank.
Attendees are encouraged to bring their chairs and blankets for an evening of fun and fireworks this Saturday, July 1st, at Tom Hanafan River’s Edge Park. “The park is a remarkable venue with impressive views of the Omaha skyline and the fireworks being set off on that side of the river. We hope lots of people come down and enjoy the entertainment,” says Walsh.
