Hot town? Cool down! The Council Bluffs Parks and Rec Department has you covered this summer. Check out all of the “cool” things they have ready for your summer in the city.
Pirate Cove Water Park
Set out on a high seas adventure at Pirate Cove Water Park, a Z-shaped pool complete with a kid-sized pirate ship, zero-depth area and deep end with a diving board. Zip down the two water slides, build sandcastles in the sand play area or relax in the shaded seating. Entry is $5 with slides, $4 without and $2 on family nights.
Katelman Water Park
Katelman features a rectangular pool with a zero-depth area and play features including a pelican with a slide in his beak. Thrill-seekers can zip down the water slide and spring off the diving board. Katleman also has a sand and play area, green space, volleyball courts, shaded seating, and concessions. Fairmount Water Playground
Head to the Fairmount Park to beat the heat on a hot and humid day. The water playground at Fairmount Park features 14 different water sprays that squirt in a cycle that is sure to entertain the kids. While you’re there you can also enjoy a picnic under the new pavilion and the delight of swinging and sliding at the playground.
Bayliss Park
Shade is plentiful at this beautiful park. Enjoy a picnic while you take in the sights and sounds of the iconic fountain. The splash pad with interactive water features is the perfect size for small children. Come on a Friday night and enjoy a movie in the park too!
