The Services Division is an essential part of the Council Bluffs Police Department. The Services Division is responsible for providing support and service to the other divisions and sections of the entire department.
The Services Division is comprised of two sections; Records Management and Property Management. The Services Division Commander, who holds the rank of captain oversees the department, which is made up of a services manager, 10 full time records technicians, and two property management specialists.
The Records Management Section is the central repository for all records and reports handled by the Police Department. Records technicians ensure reports are readily available and are properly distributed to all appropriate Police Department divisions, the court system, and other law enforcement agencies. Where permitted by policy, copies of incident reports, accident reports, and criminal history information may be released to the public for a fee.
The Services Division also has the responsibility of manning the public access window for the Police Department. For security reasons, all persons conducting business with the Police Department must first stop at the public access window in the main lobby. The hours of operation for the window are 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM Monday through Friday.
