Parks and Recreation 2022 Event Series

The City of Council Bluffs is pleased to announce the 2022 Parks and Recreation Event Series! These events take place in multiple parks and neighborhoods throughout Council Bluffs. The variety of activities aims to engage residents of all ages.

  • June 19: The Play Catch Event 
    Enjoy Father's Day at River's Edge Park as we participate in The Play Catch Movement's attempt at setting a world record for playing catch!
  • June 26: Belles' Play Garden Opening
    Come to River's Edge Park for a night of family fun to celebrate the new children's play area!
  • July 9: Summerfest at River's Edge
    Celebrate summer with us! Come to Hanafan Park for music, activities, prizes, and more! This free event is fun for the whole family! Secure your spot in the lacrosse demonstration by pre-registering here under "Youth Sports Leagues/Camps."
  • July 29: Pool Party at Katelman 
    The annual evening pool party takes on a life of its own with themed fun and special pricing! 
  • August 6: Youth Fishing Derby
    Calling all young anglers! Sign up for the third annual Youth Fishing Derby at Big Lake!
  • August 27: Block Party in Bayliss Park
    Join us for a free kid's concert with food trucks, face painting, balloon art, games, and more!
  • September 16: Comedy Night at River's Edge
    Due to the nature of stand-up comedy, this event is intended for adults 18 and older. Join us for the fourth annual Comedy Night!
  • October 15: RECtoberfest at River's Edge
    This free outdoor event is designed for kids ages 12-18 with field day activities, carnival games, music, and lots of prizes!

Council Bluffs Parks and Recreation provides the community with a wide variety of annual events for residents of all ages. The event series is "UNlike Anywhere Else. On Purpose."
