The Mission of the Council Bluffs Department of Public Health is to improve, protect and promote the health, the environment and the well-being of residents in our community.

Recycling and Solid Waste News
- Curbside yard waste collection begins April 1 and continues through November 30.
- Yard waste can be placed in trash cans, Poly-carts or paper yard waste bags (available from area retailers). These can either be clearly marked with a “Y”, or residents can place an orange yard waste sticker on them. Stickers are only available at the Council Bluffs Recycling Center or at the Health Department and City Treasurer’s Office located at City Hall, 209 Pearl Street.
- Recycle more in Council Bluffs! Council Bluffs curbside collection and drop-off sites at the grocery stores are now accepting #1 - #5 plastic containers and cartons!
