Overview
The Board of Mechanical Appeals is comprised of 5 members who are appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by City Council. Each member serves a three year term. The Board of Mechanical Appeals conducts hearings to sustain, modify or withdraw requirements as directed by the mechanical/plumbing inspector regarding regulations pertaining to the design, construction, quality of materials, erection, installation, alleration, repair, location, relocation, replacement, addition to, use or maintenance of heating, ventilating, cooling, refridgeration systems, incinerators or other miscellaneous heat-producing appliances; and each and all of the regulations, provisions, conditions and terms of the Uniform Mechanical Code. The Board also reviews the method, materials and testing agency used for testing the mechanical master.
