The Council Bluffs Law Enforcement Center Community Study Group provided recommendations to the City of Council Bluffs for the location and space needs of a new law enforcement center.
The recommendations reflected the needs of the community, as well as the long-term needs of the police department.
The group anticipated the concerns of the community, strive to represent all perspectives, and speak with one voice in presenting information to our neighbors and responding to questions that arise from this study process.
The community study group submitted its final recommendations to the Council Bluffs City Council on Monday, March 14.
Your neighbors serving on the community study group have thoroughly reviewed the needs and options for a new Council Bluffs police headquarters.
Study group members reviewed 13 locations for a new facility, and have narrowed down the options to the three highest-scoring locations.
The study group recommends the city approve a thoroughly modern and fully capable facility that will serve our police department and community for generations to come.
On May 3, 2016 in a special election, voters approved a $20 million bond to build a new law enforcement facility.
