Council Bluffs Special Transit Service (STS) provides curb-to-curb demand response service for individuals unable to use MAT's fixed route service, because of a disability. The service is available to all eligible residents within Council Bluffs' city limits. Approximately 1 percent of the population within the city limits is registered for STS and approximately 1300 passengers ride the buses each month. The service is certified as compliant with ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) regulations and in conformance with the FTA (Federal Transportation Act) regulations. Comparable paratransit is offered in place of fixed route service to persons who are certified transit disabled.
